The Congress-Muslim League signed the Lucknow pact in 1916 which cemented Hindu-Muslim unity to achieve the goal of self-rule. Lucknow Pact suggested the following reforms:

  • Self-government in India.
  • Abolition of the Indian Council.

  • Separation of the executive from the judiciary.
