In an effort to promote widespread use of card payments in the country, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to set up an 'Acceptance Development Fund'. The Fund will be used to ensure growth of card acceptance infrastructure such as swipe machines, point of sales etc, across the country particularly in Tier III and Tier VI cities.
