Q- Why is it difficult to walk in sand than on a wooden path?

Pls help experts(using technical terms- pressure,force,area)

It's all about the pressure ...if we walk on the sand the pressure of your body makes sand the sand to move down ...but in the wooden path there is no chance to go down as it is taking all the pressure and making it to spread all over the wooden path..so it is easy to walk on the wooden and thought on the sand..

Now coming to the point in detail, if you walk on sand.. you apply pressure on it so that you can walk but that sand use some of your pressure to consolidate itself.. Now half of your pressure energy is stolen by the sand and you have to make up for it..that makes it harder on you
