Explanation:

Based on the variations in its geological structure, India can be divided into only 3 geological divisions,i.e., (i) the peninsular block, (ii) the Himalayas and the other peninsular mountains, (iii) Indo-Ganga-Brahmaputra plain.

Statement 1 is correct: The peninsular block is the oldest among this division. After that the Himalayas were created when the Indian plate collided with the Eurasian plate. The plains are the latest division.

Statement 2 is correct: The peninsula is basically formed by a large complex of very ancient gneisses and granites, which make up a significant part of it.

Statement 3 is incorrect: The river valleys of the peninsula are shallow with low gradients. As most of the rivers in the peninsula are in the mature stage rather than vertical erosion it erodes laterally. Thus, they have shallow depth.
