Solution

Dear student,

1. A stem of the plant is compared to a street with a two way traffic because just like a two way street that allows traffic to travel in both direction, a stem has two ways mechanism of transport i.e. transport of water and minerals through xylem in upward direction and transport of food through phloem in both upward and downward direction.

2. Bees can actively seek out flowers with pollen and so they can easily collect huge amount of nectar from flowers without much searching. When a honey bee sits on a flower to collect nectar from it, the pollen grains stick to its body and is carried to the other flowers.

Regards.
