The Mutiny was fought between Feb 18, 1946 and Feb 23rd 1946 (For 5 days). The Second World War led to an increase in the number of soldiers in the RIN. In 1946, the size of the RIN was 10 times larger than it’s size in 1939. The Mutiny spread from Bombay to Karachi, Vizag, and Calcutta etc. Neither the Congress nor the Muslim League supported the mutiny. Only Communist Party of India supported it
