The term panchayati raj in it self signifies the system of rural self government.Though it's establishment in 1959 when first panchayat was inaugurated in Rajastan opened the new door for rural development.The panchayat is a means to reach the grass root levels.It lowers the burden of the state authorities.It takes the working's in the villages through construction of local link roads,schools,toilets etc.It is funded by the state finance commissions.The elections have become a potent tool in the hand's of people because even for the panchayts the awareness for the development has a value.Every five years new members to the village panchayats are elected through peaceful democratic means.
