Solution

The correct option is A

(a) 42

Let digit at unit place = x

Let digit at tens place = 6-x

Number = 10(6-x) + x

When 18 will be subtracted from the number digits will be reversed

10(6-x) + x-18 = 10x + (6-x)

60-10x + x – 18 = 10x + 6 – x

36 = 18x

X = 2

Digit at unit place = 2

Digit at tens place = 6-2 = 4

So number is 42.
