Q25. The sum of the digits of a two digit number is 6. If 18 is subtracted from the number the digits will be reversed in the resultant number find the number.
(a) 42
Let digit at unit place = x
Let digit at tens place = 6-x
Number = 10(6-x) + x
When 18 will be subtracted from the number digits will be reversed
10(6-x) + x-18 = 10x + (6-x)
60-10x + x – 18 = 10x + 6 – x
36 = 18x
X = 2
Digit at unit place = 2
Digit at tens place = 6-2 = 4
So number is 42.
