The Constituent Assembly was not directly elected by the people of India on the basis of adult franchise, the Assembly comprised representatives of all sections of Indian Society—Hindus,

Muslims, Sikhs, Parsis, Anglo–Indians, Indian Christians, SCs, STs including women of all these sections. The Assembly included all important personalities of India at that time, with the exception of Mahatma Gandhi and M A Jinnah

संविधान सभा का भारत के लोगों द्वारा सीधे वयस्क मताधिकार के आधार पर निर्वाचन नहीं किया गया था, सभा में भारतीय समाज के सभी वर्गों के प्रतिनिधि – हिंदु, मुस्लिम, सिख, पारसी, एंग्लो-इंडियन, भारतीय ईसाई, अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति और इन सभी वर्गों की महिलाऐं शामिल थे। महात्मा गांधी और एम.ए. जिन्ना को छोड़ कर उस समय संविधान सभा में भारत की सभी महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्तित्व शामिल थे।
