National Young Leaders Programme (NYLP) aims at developing leadership qualities among the youth to enable them to realise their full potential and in the process, to contribute to the nation-building process. The Programme beneficiaries shall be the youth in the age-group of 15-29 years, in line with the definition of ‘youth’ in the National Youth Policy, 2014.
Programme Components: The National Young Leaders Programme is proposed as a Central Sector Scheme. It has the following components: Neighborhood Youth Parliament (NYP); Youth for Development Programme (YFDP); National Young Leaders Awards (NYLA); National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC); and National Youth Development Fund (NYDF).
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), launched in 1972. Its objective is to develop the personality and leadership qualities of the youth and to engage them in nation-building activities.
