Let p and s be, respectively, the number of pants and shirts. Both p and s are integers.

Also, p x 480 + s x 130 = 3620

13s + 48p = 362 -----(1)

Here for maximum p, minimum number of s will be purchased.

At this stage instead of solving (1) you should try answer choices.

p = 7 gives 13s + 336 = 362

Therefore, s = 2
