Ans:69)(c)Expl. The 48th ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Foreign Ministers’ meet was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia between 4 August and 6 August 2015. The meet was chaired by Anifah Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

The foreign ministers of ASEAN had a productive discussion revolving round the theme of the meet.

They also discussed regional and international issues as well as their ongoing efforts to maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

ASEAN is a political and economic organisation of ten Southeast Asian countries. It was formed on 8 August 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Since then, membership has expanded to include Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), and Vietnam.

Besides, the ASEAN foreign ministers meet was participated by India’s Minister of State for External Affairs of India Gen (Retd) VK Singh.
