Speed is the distance travelled by an object in a given interval of time. Velocity is the displacement of an object in a given interval of time.

Speed = $\frac{D i s t a n c e}{T i m e}$ Velocity = $\frac{D i s p l a c e m e n t}{T i m e}$

Speed is a scalar quantity, i.e., it has only magnitude. Velocity is a vector quantity, i.e., it has both magnitude as well as direction.
