Question

Question 1 (ii)
Solve the following pair of linear equations by the substitution method.
st=3;s3+t2=6

Open in App
Solution

s - t = 3 ... (i)
s3+t2=6 ... (ii)
From equation (i), we get
s = t + 3
Substituting this value in equation (ii), we get
t+33+t2=6
2t + 6 + 3t = 36
5t = 30
t=305 = 6
Substituting the value of t in equation (i),
We obtain, s = 9
s = 9 and t = 6
