Find the roots of the quadratic equations by using the quadratic formula in the following question.


3x2+5x+12=0

Given equation is 3x2+5x+12=0
on comparing with ax2 + bx + c = 0, we get
a = - 3, b = 5 and c = 12
by quadratic formula, x=b±b24ac2a
=(5)±(5)24(3)(12)2(3)
=5±25+1446=5±1696
=5±136=86, 186=43, 3
So, 43and 3 are two roots of the given equation.
