$x = \frac{- 2}{5}$ and $y = \frac{- 9}{10}$

Given, $x = \frac{- 2}{5}$ and $y = \frac{- 9}{10}$
Then, LHS $= x + y = \frac{- 2}{5} + \frac{- 9}{10} = \frac{- 2}{5} - \frac{9}{10} = \frac{- 4 - 9}{10} = \frac{- 13}{10}$
RHS $= y + x = \frac{- 9}{10} + \frac{- 2}{5} = \frac{- 9}{10} - \frac{2}{5} = \frac{- 9 - 4}{10} = \frac{- 13}{10}$
$∴$ LHS = RHS $\Rightarrow x + y = y + x$
Hence verified.
