Question 111 (i)
What will happen to the volume of the cube, if its edge is tripled?
Let each side of the cube be a, then its volume =a3 [∵ volume of a cube =(side)3]
If side became triple, then the new side will be 3a
∴, Volume will be =(3a)3=27a3
Hence, new volume of the cube will be 27 times of original volume of the cube.
