Find the value of n.

$\frac{6^{n}}{6^{- 2}} = 6^{3}$

Solution

Given, $\frac{6^{n}}{6^{- 2}} = 6^{3}$

Using law of exponents,

$\frac{a^{m}}{a^{n}} = a^{m - n}$

$w e g e t, 6^{n - (- 2)} = 6^{3}$

$\Rightarrow 6^{n + 2} = 6^{3}$

Since the base is same on both sides, we can equate the exponents.

$\Rightarrow n + 2 = 3 \Rightarrow n = 1$
