Solution

Brand X sunscreen cost = Rs. 70
With sales tax = Rs. 75
Sales tax paid = Rs. 75 - Rs. 70 = Rs. 5
Brand Y sunscreen cost = Rs. 62
With sales tax = Rs. 65
Sales tax = Rs. 65 - Rs. 62 = Rs. 3
Hence, tax for brand X=570×100=507=7.14%
Sales tax for brand Y=362×100=30062=4.8384.84%
