Write True (T) or False (F) against the following statement:

$5.2:3.9::3:4$

If two ratios are equal, we say that they are in proportion.

Ratio of 5.2 to 3.9 = $\frac{5.2}{3.9}$ = 4 : 3 ( Divide numerator and denominantor by hcf of 5.2 and 3.9 i.e. 1.3)

Ratio of 3 to 4 = $\frac{3}{4}$ = 3 : 4

Since, 5.2 : 3.9 $\ne$ 3 : 4

Therefore, 5.2, 3.9, 3, 4 are not in proportion.

Hence, it is False.
