Solution

Atomicity is defined as the number of atoms in the molecules of an element.
The atomicity of the following compounds are as follows
(a) 2 (b) 3 (c) 3 (d) 8 (e) 4 (f) 4 (g) 14 (h) 3 (i)2 (j) 5 (k) 1 (l) 1

Based on atomicity the compounds are classified as
(i) Monoatomic (consisting of one atom) - (k) He , (l) Ag
(ii) Diatomic (consisting of two atoms) - (a) F2 , (i) HCI
(iii) Polyatomic (consisting of more than two atoms) - (b) NO2 , (c) N2O , (d) C2H6 , (e) P4 , (f) H2O2 , (g) P4O10 , (h) O3 , (j) CH4
