In a freshwater aquatic ecosystem like a pond, the following organisms are included

Producers : Floating plants usually algae, called phytoplankton.
Consumers: Animals of the ecosystem which depend on the producers for food directly.
Herbivores: The algae are eaten up by small fish.
Carnivores: The protozoa are eaten up by small fish. Higher carnivores that are big fish and fish-eating birds or animals eat the small fishes.
