Size of image of an object by a mirror having a focal length of 20 cm is observed to be reduced to 13rd of its size. At what distance the object has been placed from the mirror? What is the nature of the image and the mirror?

Given, magnification, m = 13
Focal length, f = 20 cm
m=(vu)
13=(vu)
u = 3v
Mirror formula is given by,
1f=1u+1v
120=13v+1v
120=43v
u = 3v=80 cm
Object distance, u = 80 cm
Image is real and inverted. Hence mirror is concave.
