Find the area of the field in which the cow can graze.

Let ABCD be a rectangular field of dimensions 20 m×16 m. Suppose a cow is tied at a point A let length of rope be AE= 14 m = r (say)



Area of the filed in which the cow can graze

= Area of sector AFEG =θ360×πr2

=90360×π(14)2

[ since, the angle between two adjacent sides of a rectangle is 90 ]

=14×227×196

=154 m2
