By graphically, for each of the following conditions , i.e:
1) a, b > 0
2) a < 0, b > 0
3) a > 0, b < 0
4) a< 0, b< 0
but a = b 0.
The pair of equations x = a and y = b graphically represents lines which are intersecting at (a, b).

If a, b > 0, we have the graph as follows:

Similarly, in all cases two lines intersect at (a, b)
Required answer is (D), intersecting at (a,b).
