The pair of equations x = aand y = bgraphically represents line which are
(A) parallel
(B) intersecting at (b, a)
(C) coincident
(D) intersecting at (a, b)

Solution
By graphically, for each of the following conditions , i.e:
1) a, b > 0
2) a < 0, b > 0
3) a > 0, b < 0
4) a< 0, b< 0
but a = b ≠ 0.
The pair of equations x = a and y = b graphically represents lines which are intersecting at (a, b).
∴ If a, b > 0, we have the graph as follows:
Similarly, in all cases two lines intersect at (a, b)
Required answer is (D), intersecting at (a,b).
