Question 51
How are chromatin, chromatid and chromosomes related to each other?
Chromatin is a mass of genetic material composed of DNA and proteins which are found in the interphase of the cell cycle. When a cell starts to divide, the tangled mass of chromatin condense into long threads and finally rod-like bodies called chromosomes. Chromatids are the individual chromosomes but in a pair joined to the other copy by a centromere.
