Find the ratio of the following:

30 minutes to 1 hour

Ratios are used to compare quantities which have same units

To find the ratio of the given numbers we have to convert them into same units.

We have to find the ratio of 30 minutes to 1 hour

Now, ratio of 30 minutes to 1 hour = Ratio of 30 minutes to 60 minutes

= 30 minutes : 1 hour $\Rightarrow$ 30 minutes : 60 minutes

= $\frac{30}{60}=\frac{1}{2}=1:2$ [Dividing numerator and denominator by HCF of 30 and 60 i.e. 30]
