Find the value of the letters in the given question.

We have, $2 L M L M 1________M 18$
In first column, M + 1 = 8
Clearly, M = 7
In second column, L + M = 1
$\Rightarrow$ L + 7 = 1
$∴$ The value of L can be 4.
In third column, 2 + L + 1 = M
$\Rightarrow$ 2 + 4 + 1 = 7
$\Rightarrow$ 7 = 7, so the third column is satisfied for L = 4, M = 7.
Hence, L = 4 and M = 7
