Let the price of the product before sales tax be Rs. x.
So, $x+x\times \frac{4.5}{100}=3155$
$\Rightarrow x+\frac{x\times 4.5}{100}=3155$
$\Rightarrow \frac{104.5x}{100}=3155$ [$\because$ sales tax included in selling price]
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{3155\times 100}{104.5}=\frac{315500}{104.5}=Rs.3019.1387\Rightarrow x=Rs.3019.14$
Hence, the price of the product before sales tax Rs. 3019.14.
