We have,
$(1.5 p + 1.2 q)^{2} - (1.5 p - 1.2 q)^{2} = [(1.5 p + 1.2 q) + (1.5 p - 1.2 q)] [(1.5 p + 1.2 q) - (1.5 p - 1.2 q)]$
[using the identity, $a^{2} - b^{2} = (a + b) (a - b)$ ]
$= [(1.5 p + 1.5 p) + (1.2 q - 1.2 q)] [(1.5 p - 1.5 p) + (1.2 q + 1.2 q)] = 3 p \times 2.4 q = 7.2 p q$
