Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Here the amine is aromatic amineAromatic amines on reaction with nitrous acid show diazotisation reaction only. Alcohol is not formed in this case. Even the reaction of aliphatic amines with nitrous acid first give diazonium salts only, but the diazonium salt of aliphatic amines are unstable and so they further give alcohol. In case of aromatic amines the diazonium salt formed is stable.
