Quite a few species of plants and animals are endangered in India. Why?

Species which are facing high risk of extinction are called endangered species. Some of the endangered plants include Ebony tree, Umbrella tree, Indian mallow etc. and few of the endangered animals are Blackbuck, One Horned Rhinoceros and Asiatic Lion etc.

Plants and animals are facing high risk because of over exploitation of plants and animal resources, greedy hunting for commercial purposes, deforestation, pollution etc.
