Solution

Area of region I:
2S=5+5+1=11cm (Isosceles triangle)
S=5.5 cm
Area of I=s(sa)(sb)(sc)

=5.5(5.55)(5.55)(5.51)

=.7511=2.48 cm2

Area II: or Area of rectangle =l×b
=6.5×1
=6.5 cm2

Area III: Its a trapezium
So, we need to calculate the perpendicular height
=(1)2(0.5)2=0.75
=0.86 cm

Area of trapezium
= Area of parallelogram + Area of equilateral triangle

=0.866×1+34(1)2

=0.86+0.43=1.29 cm2

Area of region IV= Area of region V=12×6×1.5
=4.5 cm2

Total area of paper used =2.48+6.5+1.29+4.5+4.5
=19.27 cm2
