We have,

Let the total number of flower $= x$

At reach Ist temple $= x - \frac{x}{2} = \frac{x}{2}$

At reach second temple

$= \frac{x}{2} - \frac{x}{2} \times \frac{1}{2}$

$= \frac{x}{2} - \frac{x}{4} = \frac{x}{4}$

At reach third temple

$= \frac{x}{4} - \frac{x}{4} \times \frac{1}{2}$

$= \frac{x}{4} - \frac{x}{8}$

$= \frac{x}{8}$

According to given question,

$\frac{x}{8} = 3$

$\Rightarrow x = 24$

Hence, this is the answer.
