Solution

The correct option is A 1.1 eV
Using Einstein's photoelectric equation,
E=ϕ0+(KE)max

ϕ0=hcλ(KE)max=12420λ(KE)max (in eV)

Also, (KE)max=p22m

For an electron moving in a circular path, through a uniform magnetic field,

r=mvBq=peBp=reB

(KE)max=r2e2B22m in V=r2eB22m (in eV)

Now, ϕ0=12420λ(KE)max (in eV)

ϕ0=124206561r2eB22m (in eV)

=1.89(104)×1.6×1019×9×1082×9.07×1031

=(1.8930.793)=1.1 eV

Hence, (A) is the correct answer.
