Messenger RNA is a type of single-stranded RNA which is involved in the synthesis of protein.
mRNA is formed from a template of DNA during the process of transcription.
Information from DNA in a cell's nucleus to the cell's cytoplasm is carried by mRNA.
The mRNA sequence is read by the protein-making machinery in the cytoplasm.
