Let the speed of Rahul in still water = x km/h
Speed of stream = y km/h
The downstream speed = (x+y) km /h
Upstream speed = (x-y) km /h
we know that
Speed = Distance time time = Distancetime
According to question
for, downstream ,20x+y = 2 10 =x+y ----(1)Upstream 4x- y = 2x- y = 2 ----(2)Adding (1 )and(2 )2x = 12x =6 Now put x = 6 in (1)6 +y = 10y =4Speed of Rahul in Still water = 6km/hSpeed of stream = 4km/h
