Rahul can finish one-fifth of his homework in one hour. Neha can finish three-sevenths of her homework in one hour thirty minutes and Riya can finish three fourth of her homework in three hours thirty minutes. If all of them start their homework at 12.00p.m and can go to play as soon as they all finish their homework, when can they start to play if they take a break at 3.30p.m for thirty minutes?

Given,

Rahul can finish 15 of his homework in 1hour.

So, the time needed to complete his full homework =1÷15=5hrs

Neha can finish 37 of his homework in 1hour30min=112=32hrs

So, the time needed to complete her full homework =32÷37=72hrs=312hrs=3hr30min

Riya can finish 34 of his homework in 3hour30min=312=72hrs

So, the time needed to complete her full homework =72÷34=143hrs=423hrs=4hr40min

All of them began their homework at 12.00p.m and they take a break at 3.30p.m for 30min

As Neha is taking 3hrs30min to finish the homework, that implies she can start to play at

12p.m+3hrs30min=3:30p.m ( No break needed )

Rahul can start to play at

12p.m+5hrs+30minbreak=5:30p.m.

Riya can start to play at

12p.m+4hrs40min+30minbreak=5:10p.m

Hence, Rahul can start to play at 5:30pm, Neha can start to play at 3:30pm and Riya can start to play at 5:10pm
