1. Teeth in the mouth helps in chewing the apple. This breaks down apple into smaller pieces. Saliva mixes with the apple.

2. Smaller pieces of the apple enters the oesophagus. This takes the food to the stomach.

3. The acid and the digestive juices in the stomach will break it down into simpler substances.

4. Food enters intestine. Further breakdown of food takes place. And nutrients are absorbed in intestine.

5. Waste is excreted out through the anus.
