He ends up taking a second route that is $\frac{1}{3}$ of the orginal route. What was the difference in distance that Rahul covered by this new path? [4 MARKS]

Distance of the first path taken for short cut = $\frac{4}{5}\times 10=8$ km
Distance of the second path taken for short cut = $\frac{1}{3}\times 10=\frac{10}{3}$ km
Total distance covered by Ram = $\frac{10}{3}+8=\frac{34}{3}$ km
Difference in Distance = $\frac{34}{3}-10=\frac{4}{3}$ km

Ram ended up covering a larger distance of 1.3 km.
