Question

Rain water does not leave any scales on boiling. Give reason.

Rain water is a pure water and it does not contain any hardness containing ions like bicarbonate, chloride and sulphate. When water containing these ions are boiled they get precipitated and form scales on long standing. As rain water is free from all these there is no scale formed.
