Let the total amount of money Raj had be ₹$x$.
Amount spent on pen = ₹$10\frac{1}{4}=$ ₹ $\frac{41}{4}$
Amount spent on food = ₹$25\frac{3}{4}=$ ₹$\frac{103}{4}$
Remaining Amount that he gave to his friend
= ₹$16\frac{1}{2}=$ ₹$\frac{33}{2}$
Hence, the sum of all these amounts is equal to $x$.
We shall now find the value of $x$.
$x=\frac{41}{4}+\frac{103}{4}+\frac{33}{2}$
$x=\frac{41}{4}+\frac{103}{4}+\frac{66}{4}$
$x=\frac{210}{4}$
$x=\frac{105}{2}$
$x=52\frac{1}{2}$
