Given the length of the train is 322 m

Let x metres be the length that was found hanging. Then using unitary method we have



Or, $x\times \frac{14}{14}=322\times \frac{11}{14}$

Or, $14x=322\times 11$

$\therefore x=\frac{322\times 11}{14}$

$=\frac{322}{14}\times 11$

$=23\times 11$

$=253metres$
