Let the initial salary be x.
Then by the question
$x + 10$ % $- 20$ % $= 17600 \to 1$
$x + \frac{x}{10} - \frac{x}{5} = 17600$
$\frac{10 x + x - 2 x}{10} = 17600$
$10 x + x - 2 x = 176000$
$9 x = 176000$
$x = 19, 555$
$∴$ His initial salary would be
Rs. $19, 555$
