Solution

The correct option is C 2 km
Let the speed of Siddharth and Rakesh be x an y km/h, respectively,
And the speed of stream = a km/h
Case I:
As Rakesh rows downstream and Siddharth rows upstream:
That is, (xa)×1560+(y+a)1550=2.25xa+y+a=9 (i)x+y=9
Case II:
(xa)×1560+(ya)1560=1.25xa+ya=5(x+y2a=5) (ii)
On solving (i) and (ii)
We get a = 2 km/h
