Rakesh was heating ice to melt it but the temperature remained constant till all the ice melted. Why it was so?

Solution

When Rakesh starts melting the ice and increases the temperature, all the heat energy gets used up
to change the state from solid to liquid
to break the bonds of the ice's crystal lattice structure.
to overcome the forces of attraction between the particles.
Hence there is no change in temperature and it remains constant till all the ice is melted.
