Scale of 1 cm represents 28 km

As the actual distance increases, distance on the map also increases.

In the case of direct proportion we take

$\frac{x_1}{y_1}$ = $\frac{x_2}{y_2}$

$x_1$= 1 cm ; $x_2$ = x cm ; $y_1$= 28 km ; $y_2$= 1400 km

$\frac{1}{28}$= $\frac{x}{1400}$

x = $\frac{1400}{28}$ = 50 cm
