Ram has Rs. 1500 left with him. It was $20 %$ of his income.What was his income and his expenditure?

Solution

Let income of Ram be $R s . x$ .
Then, 20% of x = Rs. 1500
$\frac{20}{100} \times x = 1500$

$x = 1500 \times 5 = R s . 7500$
Therefore, income of Ram = $R s . 7500$
And, expenditure = $R s . 7500 - R s . 1500 = R s . 6000$
