Electric bulb and electric cell each have 2 terminals.
To make the bulb glow one terminal of the bulb is connected to one terminal of the cell and other is connected to the other terminal of the cell. In this way, a closed circuit will be obtained.
But here, since both terminals of the bulb are connected to a
single terminal of the cell, hence the circuit is not complete and the bulb will not glow.
