Sohan does $\frac{1}{12} - \frac{1}{16}$ $= \frac{1}{48}$ part in $1$ day
Sohan and Ramesh $\frac{8}{12}$ part $= \frac{2}{3}$ part in $8$ days
Work remained $= \frac{1}{1} - \frac{2}{3} = \frac{1}{3}$
For $\frac{1}{48}$ part of work, require $1$ day
Then for $\frac{1}{3}$ part requires $\frac{48}{3} = 16$ days.
